The plenary which was hosted by the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife witnessed the discussion of a wide range of issues affecting students of Ondo State origin in various tertiary institutions across Nigeria.

After rolling out their various
achievements, the challenges enumerated by the senators ranges from the perennial issue of funding, to bursaries and scholarships for their constituents. They urged the national body of NAOSS to fast-track dialogues and expedite actions on getting bursaries from the state government.

In the midst of the foregoing discussions in the House, the Executive Arm of NAOSS, ably led by the National President, Hammed Oyelade, dived in. The president reacted to a whole lot of issues being addressed when he and his lieutenants came in. He promised to look into the issues of funding, bursaries and scholarships for Ondo State students scattered across various tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

Specifically, the Executive President emphasised that he and his team had had robust and fruitful discussions with the state government in many fora and on different occasions, promising that Ondo State students will soon smile to the bank as payments of bursaries will soon be flooding their respective accounts.

Furthermore, the issue of insecurity which is lately becoming rampant in the Sunshine State was raised. While promising to take action on this menace through the creation of awareness among Ondo State students and prevailing on the state government to arrest the ugly trend, the Executive President however advised students to desist from late night journeys at this period. He reiterated that the perpetrators of these heinous acts of kidnapping, banditry, among others, usually hunt for their victims at night.
