The 29th Senate sitting of the National Association of Ondo State Students (NAOSS) held at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) on July 20, 2024, was marked by a pressing concern - the escalating insecurity in Ifon, Ondo State. Dist. Sen. Ayomide Rufus, the Senate President, led the discussion, urging security personnel to take decisive action against the rising cases of kidnapping in the region.
The alarm was raised by the Senator representing NAOSS Federal University of Oye Ekiti Constituency 1, who reported the kidnapping of a graduate of the institution and a serving Corps member along the Ifon road. This disturbing incident highlighted the urgent need for effective measures to ensure the safety and security of students and residents in Ondo State.

Dist. Sen. Ayomide Rufus emphasized the importance of collective action in eradicating kidnapping and ensuring the well-being of citizens. 1. Increase surveillance and patrols in vulnerable areas
